Clinical Hypnotherapy

What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Clinical Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to treat medical and psychological problems.
ALL HYPNOSIS IS SELF-HYPNOSIS
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring form of relaxation and inner concentration, and is also accompanied by a state of heightened awareness. We all experience hypnosis as part of our every day lives, e.g. when doing things on autopilot like driving, being engrossed in a good book or a television programme.
Hypnosis is NOT sleep. The body is deeply relaxed although not necessarily but mainly the mind is sharpened and more focused. Hypnosis techniques are only a means to achieve this state.
In this state, we have direct access to our conscious mind where we store all our emotions, habits and behaviours, but also our resources. We are able to gain insights and a new perspective on problems. We are also better placed to tap into our inner resources to help resolve issues.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis! Your therapist is merely a facilitator.
There is NO magic wand, Hypnosis is not sleep, I can only help you if you are be willing to do the work!
What happens in a session?
The initial session covers full history taking with a confidential, detailed discussion outlining the issue(s) causing you concern and your goal of the therapy. This first session usually ends with a short relaxation if time permits.
Subsequent sessions consist of a split between discussion and hypnosis. To help you, I will use a range of techniques such as imagery, visualisation, regression, past life regression, inner child, suggestion techniques, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Eye Movement Therapies and Energy Psychology techniques such as EmoTrance and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), etc.
