My name is Markus Kitzberger. I offer Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for individuals in London.

I adhere to UKCP Code of Conduct for professional ethics. All sessions are confidential and my practice is fully insured and supervised.

My approach is transpersonal and I use a range of techniques including dream work, creative imagination, Gestalt work, visualisation and EmoTrance.  I might also use Emotional Freedom Technique- EFT (www.eftuniverse.com). This technique is highly effective for any form of fear, anxiety, phobias, traumatic experiences  and blocks.

At certain times we all experience difficulties and doubt, go through life transitions (career change, retirement, divorce, marriage) or discover patterns in our lives that are unsupportive. Consulting a counsellor or a psychotherapist can help you face these challenges and turn them into an opportunity for personal growth.

Everyone’s situation is unique. The difficulties you are experiencing  could be including abuse, addictions, anger problems, anxiety and fears, insomnia, bereavement, cultural integration, sadness, depression, nightmares, panic attacks, psychosomatic illness, relationship problems, creative blocks, phobias, loneliness, burnout, stress, trauma & PTSD, life crisis, relationship problems, poor self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, issues around alcohol, Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder, work-related issues, eating problems and many more.

My training includes five years at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in London and an MA in Transpersonal Psychotherapy at DeMontford University in Leicester (2 years). I am also a qualified EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Practitioner.

My background includes working in the Mental Health sector where I have gained more than 12 years of experience. I am also a graduate of the Hoffman Institute (www.hoffmaninstitute.co.uk).

I work on both a short and long term basis and I practice at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (www.ccpe.org.uk) near Paddington as well as in Eltham, Shooters Hill, London SE9.

Therapy is available in English and German.

Sessions last 50-55 minutes.
The initial session costs £30.
Fees for subsequent sessions will be discussed at the initial session.

My Background
I grew up in Upper Austria by the Danube. After Grammar school I went to Vienna to study at University. I studied natural sciences but was also very interested in philosophy. Then, in my early twenties, I became fascinated by the works of C.G.Jung and a wish to become a psychotherapist was growing in me. In Vienna I started working with mentally handicapped people (“Learning Difficulties”).

When I moved to London a few years later I worked in Supported Housing for charities and Housing Associations. These were Care-Coordination roles for people with mental health difficulties and they gave me valuable experience, especially with regards to working with depression and anger.

I trained in integrative-transpersonal psychotherapy at the CCPE in London. The transpersonal approach goes beyond the mind and emotions.

I like working with dreams as they often show clearly what is going on inside of us. I have also found EFT (tapping - see Energy Psychology) very useful and have been using this technique for many years as a valuable tool in my practice.
